Dorset Storm Under 12s got off to a winning start in the Solent Basketball League.  Facing Dorchester in the opening game, Storm got off a really good start racing into a 9 – 0 lead, with Carl Gordula scoring back to back baskets in that run.  By half time the lead for Storm had been extended to 21 – 4 with some outstanding defence being the key.  Storm continued to play well in the second half, again on the back of some great defence and rebounding.  Harry Jackson lead the charge scoring four points in the second half as Storm ran out winners 33 – 8.

In the middle game, Weymouth beat Dorchester 27 – 24.

Storm were playing in the last game of the night, against Weymouth with both teams having won their opening game.  Storm started really well, with all five players battling to outrebound the taller Weymouth team.  They also attacked the basket well, and by half time had exploded into a 17 – 2 lead.  Storm kept their composure in the second half with Nathan Legg and Jamie Holgate regularly scoring for Storm.  Storm held onto their lead to finish the game with a 32 – 14 victory.

A big thank you to all the supports that lined the side of the court and those that helped tidy away at the end of the evening… Now the pressure is on for the Under 12s to keep improving!
